Facebook Begins Launching ‘Cleaner’ Redesign
Meet ‘The New Facebook,’ Facebook is getting a makeover in 2020.
While Facebook’s ‘revamp’ has already begun impacting users across the globe, the rollout wasn’t surprising.
Let’s rewind back to May 2019, when the Mark Zuckerberg-founded social media and technology company announced its plans to redesign the world’s most-used social networking platform.
The new Facebook update how the all new design looks and works
Stripping back its detailed aesthetic for a clean, minimalistic look and feel, The New Facebook will place a bigger emphasis on group communities and events.
Amping up the interactive theme of the social media platform, a new ‘Group Feed’ will show recent posts from groups you’ve subscribed too, whilst the ‘Event Page’ will remain similar to its current format.
We’ll also see a push for other much-loved aspects of the platform, such as Marketplace and Facebook Watch (We like to think of it as Facebook’s reincarnation of YouTube).

With The New Facebook hitting any day now, it’s fair to say the way we keep track of current events, funny memes and that one person we vaguely remember from high school won’t quite be the same. Not that it’s a bad thing, of course.
Some users already have the option to switch back to the original design. And you’re not limited to one single, one-size-fits-all approach either. Two cleaner, more contemporary looks are also available; one light, and one for dark mode for web users.
So what does this mean for marketers everywhere?
Our hot tip: Moving forward, keep the focus on creating quality content and encouraging genuine engagement. Keep the conversation going between you and your audience by supplementing your organic posts with your paid strategy to achieve your marketing goals.
