Put Your Phones Down!
Put Your Phones Down!
It’s a little bit of a different one today because usually, I’m always telling Sales Consultants to pick up the phone!!
But today I’m saying……………
wait for it……………
I want all of you Sales Consultants to put down your phones!
Do you have any techniques to keep your staff (or yourself) on the follow-up train?
I get to visit a number of different Dealerships and I’m noticing one thing time and time again… Sales Consultants with the heads buried in their phones!
When you’re at work, you don’t need to be liking cat videos on Facebook or watching some fitness models Insta Story from The Gold Coast.
You need to be selling cars!
Throughout my career in Sales, I have always focused on follow-up & being a Ninja on the phone.

I bet all the young consultants at your dealership sit around and complain that the Old Boys keep picking up all the walk-in traffic hey.
Why do you think that is??
I’ll tell you why, because they’re not Snapchatting what type of socks they’re wearing to their mates. They’re watching the yard and jumping on heads.
And it’s not all about the walk-in traffic either.
Every time you’re on TikTok, you could be formulating a strategy to sell the customer a car who you test drove yesterday.
Every time you’re sending a selfie, you could be using your phone for the right reason and making some follow-up phone calls.
I’ll let you in on a little secret…… you don’t realise it now, but this is costing you THOUSANDS of dollars a year, and for some of you, probably Thousands of Dollars a month!
Don’t be your own worst enemy.

I want you to try something for the rest of the month – when you’re at work, turn the mobile data on your phone off and disconnect from the wifi. This way, you won’t have a heap of notifications coming through distracting you from what you should be doing. I guarantee you that you’ll notice a massive increase in productivity and sales.
And I know some of you are going to say “But I check my emails on my phone”,
No, you don’t, that’s just an excuse. Check your emails on your computer.
Anyway……… rant over!
Remember, use your phones for the right reasons when you’re at work. They’re the most powerful tool in your arsenal when used the right way, but are the biggest hindrance when used the wrong way!
